Why does the certification mark on the base matter?
Because it is the law, not a suggestion. Every province requires electrical appliances sold or used within it to carry an accredited certification mark, most commonly CSA. Ontario's Electrical Safety Authority has specifically flagged the growth of uncertified electrical products showing up on online marketplaces, and selling or using one without the mark is against the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. Check for the mark on the base before you buy, especially from a third-party marketplace listing rather than the brand's own Canadian storefront.
Is a $1,000 blender actually worth it over a $100 one?
For daily use, testers consistently find the gap real: smoother purees, quieter motors and programs that adapt to what is in the jar.
